Udon Love

Udon Noodles are my favorite noodles — and I especially love them in soups, maybe with soft tofu and some green veggies. And the really look beautiful in a photograph, too. Japanese Food Inspirations

While traveling in Japan I just love to explore all the amazing book stores they have here. So loving everything about food, of course I also checked out all sorts of cook books and cook magazines, and there are a lot of them! Japanese people seem to love food and to love taking pictures of food as well. And everything is sooo beautifully arranged, it seems to me they are taking food photography to a whole new level here. So I got tons of inspirations and I wanted to try out some food photography of my own. It’s not perfect, but I tried to arrange my dinner set in a nice and light way, like I saw it in the magazines. Well, I still have to get better and I also had my iPhone camera with me, but I will definitely want to dig into Japanese style food photography a whole lot deeper, so watch out if you are hungry…

Strolling Around Tokyo

Tokyo is such an amazing city and we always wanted to visit it. Last year we finally had the time and the money for a trip to Japan and we started our trip with five days in Tokyo. Of course five days are way too short and we could only catch a glimpse of the city during our stay. But we loved every minute of it and we already dreaming of coming back one day. We stayed in a lovely little hotel just a few train stations away from Shibuya station and were able to get around the city pretty easy. The train system in Tokyo is amazing, although crowded at times. But it’s actually pretty easy to find your way around. We also loved it to just stroll around the different neighborhoods, eat in local cafés and small restaurants and just watch, watch watch…
