My Life Travels

Random Thoughts on a Bus Ride

I have to admit – sometimes I’m too busy with work to realize how amazing and beautiful life is. And of course you also see and hear all this terrible things happening around the world all the time and you often wonder and think about how cruel humans can be.

But when you get out into the world and just open your eyes you see that not everything is so bad and you realize little things that make you smile and that the world is somehow this amazing place that you can experience and that every little detail is a true gift you just have to value.

What’s Your Favorite Fruit in the World

comments 2

My love letter to a Papaya – If I would have to choose one fruit I want to eat for my entire life, it would probably be papaya. Yes, of course there are a lot of other fruits I love, too, but papaya really become my favorite over the last years. Maybe because you can practically not get a good papaya living in Germany, so the fruit is very special and exotic to me.

And because it’s just the right mix between fresh, fruity and sweet. And if you manage to get the big papayas, you get a lot of food with just one fruit.

Well, it doesn’t really matter much why, I would just love to eat papayas every day :)

A Little Tea Break – Or How to Relax in Busy Times

comment 1

Life can be pretty busy nowadays, so it’s important to take extra time out to relax and talk to the people you love and are close to. I love the tea rituals they have in other countries (like the Japanese Tea Ceremony), it’s just so old fashion and calming. You take your time to prepare and drink the tea and it becomes something really special and a little time out during a busy day.

Usually I tend to drink a hot drink while working, but then I can not really appreciate it. So now I especially take time for a break and a hot tea or coffee. Yes, yes, I try to avoid drinking coffee, but not quite 100% there yet. I’m working on it :) Read More

A Green House in Fukuoka

Wandering around at a cold winter day in Fukuokas shopping area, we found this cute little gras house just at a random corner of a small street.

Nature is so beautiful and becomes a real highlight – especially if you don’t expect nature to overtake a whole house in the middle of a huge shopping area. Taking Your Time Off for Creativity

comment 1

Creativity is so important and I have to remind myself to get into this dreamy mode to do creative tasks. I want to read more poetry, draw more, write more. But with busy work on the computer I hardly feel the inspiration to do creative tasks. Therefore I want to take a couple of hours a week off to celebrate creativity, to sketch ideas, read and see creative work and just seek inspiration.

Do you also feel that you don’t have enough time to do creative work? How do you manage to stay creative, if you have a busy work schedule and don’t feel too inspired? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Getting Out into the Nature

Nature is so beautiful and often I can really feel how disconnected to nature our modern life is. We work mostly indoors, so in our free time we get out into the nature as much as possible. Sure you can hit a gym for your daily workout, but why not use the time to get fresh air as well? So i started running this year and we took outdoor trips as much as possible.

When I’m at a beach or at a forest, without any mobile phones or other devices around, I can really feel the power nature has. I instantly feel much calmer and peaceful.

No Milk Today – A Vegan Kiez Café in Berlin Kreuzberg

comment 1

When we visit a city we always use the Happy Cow App to find places to eat. while visiting my sister in Berlin lately we found this cute, little all vegan café called “No Milk Today” in Kreuzberg which is run by two lovely girls.

We came in pretty hungry and had a late breakfast/turned into a brunch on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered quiche, tofu scrambled eggs, bagels and some soy milk coffee. It was all very fresh and tasteful and you could feel the love and fun the girls had preparing the food and serving the customers.  Read More
